PREP PROFILES Miles Boykin of New Lenox, Ill., landed a Notre Dame offer when he was on campus for Junior Day March 1 and holds the Fighting Irish as one of his most coveted offers yet. "It meant a lot to me," Boykin said. "It is such a great place, and not just for football. It's an offer you re- ally have to think about. It holds a lot of weight." The 2015 wide re- ceiver has great size at 6-4, 212 pounds, and his nice com- bination of height and speed has at- tracted an impres- sive list of 12 Division I offers — includ- ing Michigan State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida, Connecticut and Ole Miss. Boykin stated that Notre Dame, Wis- consin, Michigan State and Illinois are recruiting him the hardest, and noted that the quality of the coaches and the school's academics will hold the biggest weight in his decision. "I want to be around a good coaching staff. I think that plays a huge factor in my development as a player," he said. "I also want to have a good academic opportunity to pursue a career as a sports agent after football." Boykin has formed a great relation- ship with Irish offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock since his sophomore season. "We talk once a week. It has gotten to a point where we call just to talk. It's a great relationship," Boykin said. "We don't really talk about football any- more, just life, but he has told me that I may have an op- portunity to play as a freshman at Notre Dame." The chance to compete, top-notch facilities and a cam- pus of full of tradi- tion and history are what have drawn Boykin to visit the campus three times. Meanwhile, he trains with Chicago's Core 6 Athletes. "Training with Core 6 is awesome be- cause I'm getting in extra competition," Boykin said. "It's always 100 percent competition with them, and that's what you do at the next level." Boykin, who clocked a 4.51 40-yard dash and a 35.2-inch vertical jump at the Nike Football Training Camp in Chicago in mid-April, plans to make a top-10 list of his offers after spring recruitment. "It's a blessing to be in this position," he said. "There is no reason to be cocky; just enjoy it." — Staci Gasser Notre Dame High On List For Illinois Pass Catcher MILES BOYKIN ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Providence Catholic H.S. New Lenox, Ill.
