first couple practices in the spring."
Golson also said he has enjoyed the
extra attention, especially after getting
a great deal of one-on-one instruction
in the fall while training with George
Whitfield in California. He said work-
ing with both coaches has dramati-
cally improved his footwork since the
last time he played in 2012.
"Coach LaFleur is always telling us
whether we make a good pass or not
is the footwork or, 'You didn't turn the
shoulder.' It's all for the betterment of
your craft and things like that. I really
enjoy it," he said.
LaFleur and VanGorder didn't have
an easy task replacing two universally
well-liked coaches on the Notre Dame
roster this spring. Both have already
started to leave their fingerprints
on the program in the last couple of
months. ✦
