McKinney has turned from recruit to recruiter, and he — along with Al- len, Texas, wide receiver commit Jalen Guyton — has set his sights on a few other targets from Texas. "Jalen and I stay in touch," McKin- ney said. "He and I talk, and same with [McKinney, Texas, run- ning back] Ronald Jones II. We've been telling Jones that it's like a family thing and a life thing. It's a 40-year thing and not a four-year thing. We're just trying to get him to join the 'Texas Boys' and come to Notre Dame. "[Pflugerville, Texas, cornerback] PJ Mbanasor was committed to TCU, but he decommitted from there. I'm trying to get him, too." McKinney will visit South Bend this summer with his parents, and Notre Dame will receive one of his five of- ficial visits prior to National Signing Day. However, he has a few other schools he would like to see. "I'm going to take the visits after the season," he said. "I'll probably go somewhere that I haven't been or where my parents want me to go. I might go visit Michigan and Arizona, and if any offers come in before that time comes, then maybe I'll go visit them."
