McKinney has turned from recruit
to recruiter, and he — along with Al-
len, Texas, wide receiver commit Jalen
Guyton — has set his sights on a few
other targets from Texas.
"Jalen and I stay in touch," McKin-
ney said. "He and I talk, and same
with [McKinney, Texas, run-
ning back] Ronald Jones II.
We've been telling Jones that
it's like a family thing and a
life thing. It's a 40-year thing
and not a four-year thing.
We're just trying to get him
to join the 'Texas Boys' and
come to Notre Dame.
"[Pflugerville, Texas, cornerback] PJ
Mbanasor was committed to TCU, but
he decommitted from there. I'm trying
to get him, too."
McKinney will visit South Bend this
summer with his parents, and Notre
Dame will receive one of his five of-
ficial visits prior to National Signing
Day. However, he has a few other
schools he would like to see.
"I'm going to take the visits after
the season," he said. "I'll probably
go somewhere that I haven't been or
where my parents want me to go. I
might go visit Michigan and Arizona,
and if any offers come in before that
time comes, then maybe I'll go visit
them."
South Oak Cliff defensive coordi-
nator RJ Bond believes that McKin-
"HE'S JUST A REAL SPECIAL KID. HE'S
GOT THE LENGTH, THE RANGE AND THE BALL
SKILLS YOU WANT IN A MAJOR SAFETY.
MCKINNEY CAN REALLY DO IT ALL."
