BASKETBALL RECRUITING six finalists — Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, NC State, Notre Dame and UNLV. Many believe the Wolverines and Fighting Irish are now his top two, and it appears U-M has a very good shot at one of the better shooters in the 2015 class. He's in no rush, though, and isn't certain when he'll decide. Coleman and his All-Ohio Red AAU team will play at the Nike Peach Jam on July 16-20 in North Augusta, S.C. He averaged 15.2 points and shot 51.8 percent from the field and a blistering 46 of 92 from three-point land for 50.0 percent in 16 Nike Elite Youth Basketball League games. Davis, meanwhile, finished the June NBPA Top 100 camp averaging 12.0 points per game, shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 25 percent on three-pointers. He said he'd like to officially visit UCLA and UNLV in the fall, but he remains un- decided on his three other official visits. He has unofficially visited NC State three times and has checked out Michigan and Michigan State. Davis is also considering Florida, Oregon, Iowa and Kansas among his 18 total offers. "My options are open, and I'm open to anyone," Davis said. "I'm not leaning toward anyone yet, but I'll trim my list down after July. Staying close to home won't be a factor." Most still believe Michigan is a long shot, leaving Coleman as the most likely of the three offerees to end up in Ann Arbor. Other targets, though, have emerged, starting with an elite playmaker in Weston (Fla.) Sagemont's Prince Ali, a former UConn pledge. The 6-4, 190-pounder, Rivals. com's No. 27 senior nationally, has opened it up, and Michigan is one he's looking at closely. "They develop pros," he said. "Coach [John] Beilein is a good dude. He calls me weekly, and we have good conversations. They do really well with guards." U-M isn't the only one he's considering, though. "I have a good relationship with [UCLA] Coach [Steve] Alford," he said. "He's been recruiting me since before I committed to UConn. I've been talking to him for a while, and I have a great feel for what he's trying to do. I'm starting to develop a good relationship with Coach Beilein, and I already had a good relationship with [UConn] Coach [Kevin] Ollie." Ali plans to visit for a Michigan football game. Another shooting guard, Chesterfield (Va.) Lloyd C. Bird's Kenny Williams, holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Minnesota and others. The 6-2, 165-pounder, Rivals. com's No. 124 senior and rising, broke on to the scene with a great shooting perfor- mance in Sacramento at the NIKE Elite Youth Basketball League competition and has picked up much interest since. He likes North Carolina and also Michigan, but he'd have to visit to receive a U-M offer, which he hopes to. Michigan will continue to watch him to see if he's worthy of an offer. He plans to commit in the fall before his senior year, so he'll probably narrow his list in August.
