Michigan Memory: "That's easy. About 8:30 a.m. in late May, 1967, I was stretched out on a swimming pool lounge chair at one of the student apartments in Ann Arbor. I was still in my GM Security uniform, having finished a graveyard shift at the hydromatic plant in Yp- silanti — a summer before I started my MBA at the Business School. "A girl I occasionally dated was nice enough to let me borrow a key. I was grateful and kept myself in a corner away from the entry gate. On this day, a few minutes behind me, came a pretty and resolute-looking girl with, I found out soon thereafter, an electric smile and lots of brainpower, studying classical piano in the Music School. "While no match for her, I was smart enough to marry her 44 years ago. Thank you, Michigan!"
