  INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MICHIGAN'S TOP OLYMPIC SPORTS PERFORMERS Track and field redshirt junior Mason Ferlic: A standout on the track that finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2014 NCAA Out- door Championships, Ferlic was recently honored for his academic success, earning third-team Aca- demic All-America honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America. An aerospace engineering major, the St. Paul, Minn., native had to carry better than a 3.30 grade-point average to be eligible. Rowing senior Jessica Eiffert: The Honeoye Falls, N.Y., native will represent Team USA at the U23 World Championships July 23-27 in Varese, Italy. Eiffert earned her spot by finishing first in a pair qualification at the U23 Trials with a women's B-2 final time of 7:21.42. She and teammate Aggie Nowinski beat the field by 22.85 seconds. Eiffert was a Pocock first-team All-American in 2014. Men's lacrosse freshman Eric Smith: Set to arrive at Michigan this fall, Smith fine-tuned his game this summer by competing in the FIL World Championships July 10-19 for Team Swe- den alongside his brother, Dickson, a junior at Virginia. The Dover, Md., native was a standout defender at the Taft School in Connecticut and holds dual citizenship because his mother was raised in Sweden. Women's golf graduated senior Alicia Weber: Officially playing as an alumnus, Weber finished 20th at the 2014 Michigan PGA Women's Cham- pionship. The Northville, Mich., native, who av- eraged 79.18 strokes in 23 career events for the Wolverines, carded a three-round, six-over-par 222. She moved up 11 places on the last day after a final-round, even-par 72 at the Crystal Mountain Resort.
