the Wolverines' best pro linebackers
of all time.
3. Max Pacioretty, LW, Montreal Ca-
nadiens (NHL)
Pacioretty got off to a slow start
after his one year at Michigan (2007-
08), but he's blossomed into one of
the league's top talents. The USA
Olympian broke out with a 30-goal
season in 2011-12 (33 goals, 32 as-
sists), notched 39 points in 44 games
in the 2012-13 strike-shortened sea-
son and recorded a career-best 39
goals in only 72 games last season.
Pacioretty finished fourth in the
NHL in goals scored, the best show-
ing by any Canadiens player since
the great Guy Lafleur finished third
in the league in 1978-79. He also had
the least ice time per game among the
league's top 11 scorers and played
at least four fewer games than any
of them. He would likely have been
New York Jets linebacker David Harris has totaled 760 career tackles, and he merits discus-
sion among the best pros U-M has ever produced at that position.
