MICHIGAN RECRUITING Haskins Jr. of Maryland, and 2017 standout Davis Mills of Georgia. The 6-3, 200-pounder has consistently im- proved over the years and showed it on the big stage. "DeWeaver came to Jacksonville on a run of outstanding off-season performances, and he continued that momentum on Saturday," Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Josh Helmholdt said. "A year ago, the Ohio native had real loose mechan- ics and struggled with consistency, but he has developed into one of the more well-rounded quarterbacks in the 2016 class with clean mechan- ics and good footwork. The recent Michigan commit made some of his best throws during one-on-one play, fitting passes into tight windows and varying his trajectory well." DeWeaver 's performance im- pressed, but he had another purpose at the camp, as well: making sure he's playing alongside some of the country's best players in a couple years' time. "I'm also out here recruiting," De- Weaver said. "Daelin Hayes is a big one for me, and I'm talking to some of the other top guys here about Michigan, too." Hayes, a 6-3, 225-pound linebacker from Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's is one of the Wolverines' top 2016 targets. He was named the linebacker MVP of the camp and was the No. 2 top defensive performer, behind only Hope (Ark.) defensive end McTelvin Agim. "The day's linebacker MVP, Hayes was impressive in drills and down- right head-turning during one-on- ones," said Rivals.com Midlands Re- cruiting Analyst Rob Cassidy. "Hayes has tremendous athleticism and length. He looks great in coverage and closes with haste when necessary. Hayes injured his shoulder near the end of the camp but was dominant enough prior to the incident to earn the top spot in his position group." More than a dozen prospects with Michigan offers — and several in- state players who could be on the verge of hearing good news from the Maize and Blue in coming months — were in attendance, but DeWeaver and Hayes shone above all others. ❑ Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary 's standout Daelin Hayes, one of U-M's top 2016 tar- gets, was named the linebacker MVP at the Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge.
