On what head coach Brain Kelly said following the game: "The big- gest thing is at the end of the day, we need to make plays that we didn't make. In a game like that, it comes down to five or six big plays. You either make them or you don't. "In this case, we didn't make them." On the negated touchdown play: "It's pretty annoying. I'm not a huge offensive guru, but I didn't really un- derstand the call. It was really frus- trating having scored and then get- ting real excited, your emotions are at an extreme high, and then it gets taken away. "It was weird, but it's something you have to deal with." On the team's mentality moving forward: "Any time that an unde- feated team loses in a game like this, it's something that you reflect on and say, 'I don't want this to happen again.' "I think it definitely is going to energize us going forward, but it's also still really frustrating." Notre Dame junior defensive lineman Sheldon Day … On how the game ended: "I just can't believe this just happened. I'm in shock." Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher … On the atmosphere at Doak Campbell Stadium and the 82,441 fans in attendance: "The crowd was absolutely ridiculous in a good way. I can't thank them enough for creat- ing that atmosphere. If there's a bet- ter atmosphere in college football, I haven't seen it." On the quality of the quarterback- ing play by both Golson and Jameis Winston: "Somebody called and left me a message and said this is Ali- Frazier. This is a slugfest, 'Thrilla in Manilla,' standing toe-to-toe. That's what it felt like. "You knew they were going to come back. We were having to get ready. They have a great team, great organization, and they've done a great job. I know the '93 game. I watched it. Very similar in a lot of ways." On the flag negating Notre Dame's winning touchdown: "I couldn't see it from my side that well, but we said from the box, the first half, they ran a play like that. "We thought it was close to that. We said [to the referees], just be aware of it." Florida State redshirt sophomore quarterback Jameis Winston … On Notre Dame and its defense in particular: "Notre Dame has a great football team. They have a great de- fense, but at the end of the day, we made our corrections. We stepped up. I still have the best offensive line in the country. "I get hit a lot of times, but you know what I do? I get back up, and I keep playing football, and we keep winning."
