64 ■ THE WOLFPACKER WOLFPACK BASKETBALL PREVIEW ■ Trevor Lacey 1 • G R-Jr. • Huntsville, Ala. • 6-3 • 213 Analysis: After sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, Lacey is expected to jump into a prominent role in the Wolfpack backcourt this season. In addition to potentially starting at the shooting guard position, Lacey is also among NC State's best options at point guard along with sophomore Anthony "Cat" Barber. Thus, Lacey is a good bet to see a lot of playing time. He has earned high praise for his feel and understanding for the game and should provide more outside shooting to a team that relied almost exclusively on fifth-year senior wing Ralston Turner for that last season. Career Highlights: Started 52 of 69 career games at Alabama … Led the Tide with 62 made three-pointers as a sophomore and was the only player to start every game for them in 2012-13 … Also had a team-high 115 assists and was second on the squad with 51 steals … Had a career-high 23 points and five made three-pointers against West Alabama … Also had 20-point games against Oregon State and Texas Tech … Had a season-high 19 points against Georgia as a freshman … Coming out of Butler High School, was ranked No. 24 nationally in the 2011 class by Rivals.com … Earned Parade All-America honors and was a two-time Mr. Basketball selec - tion in Alabama, one of just two players to have earned that honor multiple times … Averaged 31.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.6 assists a game as a senior … Led Butler to three state titles during his career. Coach's Corner: "He's done a great job. He's a player that can play both the point guard and off guard position.
