UNDER THE DOME Notre Dame Wins Eighth Straight National Title In GSR The cap-and-gown dynasty at Notre Dame each May on graduation day continued Oct. 29 when the Fighting Irish were atop the 2014 NCAA Gradu- ation Success Rate (GSR) figure for all its student-athletes for the eighth straight year among football-playing institutions in the Football Bowl Sub- division (FBS). Based on the 2014 GSR numbers from the NCAA, Notre Dame graduated 99 percent of its student-athletes based on entering classes from 2004-07. The NCAA first presented this award in 2005. A record-tying 20 of 22 Irish athletic programs analyzed posted GSR fig- ures of 100 percent. For the sixth year in a row, Notre Dame led the nation in four GSR categories: all student-athletes (99), male student-athletes (98), female student-athletes (100) and black student-athletes (96).
