"We were going to win the football
game," McDaniel said. "That was
what everyone expected.
"We know how to play in big games.
We've won big games. There is no ex-
cuse why we didn't come back in the
second half. We had them."
Arizona State responded with a five-
play, 75-yard drive, culminating with
Taylor Kelly's four-yard scoring throw
to Richard, to regain the momentum
and take a 41-31 lead. On the ensu-
ing series, Robinson couldn't handle
a Golson pass as he fell to the ground
and batted it up into the air and into
the waiting arms of Carrington, who
put Arizona State up 48-31.
Taylor Kelly added a two-yard
touchdown run with less than a min-
ute remaining to reach the final mar-
gin, one of his four total touchdowns.
He complemented those scores with
224 yards on 17-of-28 passing, his only
blemish an interception by Irish senior
