The most recent
football season in
which Notre Dame
did not play a member
of the Big Ten Conference.
The Irish did play Michigan
State that year, but the Spartans
didn't get admitted into the Big Ten
until 1953. This year's Nov. 15 game
at home versus Northwestern marked the
end of that era because the Irish will not play
any Big Ten teams in 2015, or 99 years later.
Its next scheduled contest with a Big Ten foe is
Sept. 17, 2016, when it hosts Michigan State, the lone
opponent from the league that year.

coach to be 5-0 on Senior Day since Notre Dame Stadium
