FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP Recruiting Notes • Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy four-star offensive tackle Jerry Tillery received his U.S. Army All- American jersey during a presentation at his school Nov. 6. "I'm excited," the Irish commit told 247Sports national director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong. "It's just an honor to be chosen for this prestigious game, and I'm excited to play with some future teammates." Tillery is one of five Notre Dame commits that will play in this high-profile event. Linebackers Josh Barajas and Asmar Bilal, safety Nicco Fertitta and offensive lineman Tristen Hoge are the other four All-Americans and future Irish signees. The 6-5, 315-pound Tillery is one of 90 players set to play in the 15th annual game Jan. 3 in San Antonio. NBC will have the national broadcast from inside the Alamodome. So many former college greats and NFL stars have played in this game in the past, but the site of the game is what Tillery is most excited about. "Definitely the Alamodome," Tillery replied when asked what he's looking forward to the most. "The great teams and the great players that have played in there before, it should be exciting." Upon completion of the game, Tillery will turn his attention to Notre Dame, and he will arrive in South Bend a few days later as an early enrollee. "It will be a quick turnaround, but I'm looking forward to it," he said. Per 247Sports, Tillery is the No. 79 overall player in the nation, the No. 7 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 3 prospect in Louisiana. — Tom Loy Louisiana offensive lineman and Irish com- mit Jerry Tillery will play at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio Jan. 3.
