The Wolverines played in four overtime matches over their last five games of the season, losing only to Minne- sota … On Sept. 14, Michigan hosted then-No. 9 and undefeated Wisconsin and sent the Badgers home with their first loss of the season, 2-1. The win marked Michigan's first over a top- 10 opponent since the 2003 season … Sophomore forward Nicky Waldeck led the Wolverines with 12 goals and 29 points … Waldeck was named to the All-Big Ten first team, and junior midfielder/forward Corinne Harris was a second-team pick, while for- ward Ani Sarkisian and defender Taylor Timko were named to the league's All-Freshman squad. WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING (5-2 OVERALL, 4-0 BIG TEN) The No. 6 Wolverines have dual- meet wins over No. 18 Louisville, No. 8 Indiana and No. 20 Penn State … Freshman backstroker Clara Smiddy is a two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week … Smiddy and classmates Gil- lian Ryan and Hannah Moore have already established times that place them among the top-10 fastest Wol- verines in their events in U-M history. WRESTLING (1-1 OVERALL) Ranked No. 8 in the country by FloWrestling, the Wolverines opened their season at the Eastern Michigan Duals on Nov. 15 in Ypsilanti, Mich., beating Ohio, 28-3, and falling to No. 5 Edinboro, 23-16 … True freshman Da- vanote Mahomes made his varsity debut at 174 pounds with a 5-3 de- cision over Ohio's then ninth-ranked Cody Walters, an All-American and two-time MAC champion … Michigan dropped all four matches involving ranked wrestlers from both teams in the loss to Edinboro … Eight Wolver- ines showed up in the Nov. 17 national rankings by Intermat: junior Rossi Bruno was No. 9 at 133 pounds; fifth- year senior Steve Dutton, a returning All-American, No. 4 at 141 pounds; sophomore Brian Murphy, No. 11 at 157; redshirt sophomore Taylor Massa, No. 10 at 165; Mchomes, No. 19 at 174; sophomore Dominic Alexander, No. 11 at 184; fifth-year senior Max Hundley, No. 12 at 197; and sophomore Adam Coon, No. 4 at heavyweight. ❑
