MICHIGAN RECRUITING When the Penn State game came and went, it looked like Michigan's shot at stealing the four‑star away from the home‑state Seminoles had come and gone. However, the 6‑4, 199‑pounder changed his mind, in‑ stead scheduling a visit for the final regular‑season game against Mary‑ land. Rivals.com rates Tate as the No. 27 senior in Florida, the No. 18 wide receiver in the land and the No. 164 overall player nationally, despite the fact he missed much of his senior year due to a leg injury. The Wolverines could use a tall jump‑ball threat at the outside re‑ ceiver position to complement slot receiver Brian Cole, and Tate fits the bill. Coincidentally, his fellow Florida State wide receiver commitment is a former U‑M pledge in Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake four‑star George Campbell. The Maize and Blue would love to trade Campbell for Tate with the Seminoles, given that the former pledge is no longer considering the Maize and Blue. The bigger question for the Wol‑ verines is whether Tate wants to simply use the visit to Ann Arbor to check out a childhood favorite for a game, or if it's a legitimate op‑ portunity to sway him away from his commitment to FSU. While Tate remains guarded about the future of his recruitment, getting him on campus can only be a positive for Michigan's chances. He has also unofficially visited Florida during the fall, and is consid‑ ering an official visit to Gainesville, leaving the door open for yet an‑ other program come National Sign‑ ing Day. ❑ Class Of 2015 Football Commitments Name Pos.
