FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP Recruiting Notes • While the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the Under Armour All-American Game are consid- ered the two premier high school all-star games, there is a great deal of talent playing in this year's Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. Notre Dame has five commits in the game from the class of 2015 — three on the defensive side of the ball and two on offense. New Lenox (Ill.) Providence Catholic four-star wide receiver Miles Boykin, Bolingbrook (Ill.) High three-star defensive end Micah Dew-Treadway, Dallas South Oak Cliff three-star safety Prentice McKinney, Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame four- star wide receiver C.J. Sanders and Indianapolis Park Tudor four-star defensive tackle Brandon Tias- sum will all play in the game prior to signing with the Irish in February. Boykin, who has caught 62 passes for 987 yards and 19 touchdowns in 10 games this season, called it "an incredible honor." "It feels great," Boykin said. "It's pretty incredible to have your talent recognized and be considered an All-American. It was a blessing and made every- one around here proud." McKinney, who racked up 49 tackles and three interceptions during 11 games this year, is excited to play a game with a few of his future teammates. "It's pretty cool that all the Notre Dame boys get to come together and play before we get to South Bend," McKinney said. "It's just going to be a fun week in California. It'll be a lot of hard work, but it will be more fun than anything." Tiassum, who registered 91 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 12 forced fumbles and five sacks in 11 games, just wants to prove that he is one of the best defensive linemen in the country. "There are so many good players in that game, and I'm happy to be a part of it," Tiassum said. "I know we struggled this year on the field, but this game will show everyone that I'm going to make some plays at the next level and that I'll bring some good things to Notre Dame. I'm ready to quiet some critics." The game will be played on Jan. 4, 2015, at 9 p.m. EST and air on Fox Sports 1. — Tom Loy Follow @TomLoy247 on Twitter for daily recruiting updates available on BlueandGold.com.
