Medical sales fit his high-energy personality BY LOU SOMOGYI O n his official visit to Notre Dame's campus during the record-setting frigid winter of 1982, Chicago line- backer and national top-100 prospect Tony Furjanic was administered a pop quiz by graduating two-time con- sensus All-American linebacker Bob Crable. Furjanic's host actually was another linebacker, freshman Joe Bars (father of current Irish freshman offensive tackle Alex Bars), but the graduating senior Tony Furjanic, 1982‑85 Linebacker Furjanic still possesses the two highest single‑season tackle totals by an Irish player in the last 33 years, posting 147 as a senior in 1985 and 142 as a sophomore in 1983.
