Four days later Notre Dame travels to Miami, which is 8‑1 at home, and then there are consecutive con‑ tests versus top‑10 foes, with North Carolina (Jan. 15) on the road and traditional power Tennessee (Jan. 19) at home. Going unscathed in January would be a remarkable achievement. 3. Turnover Travails. Muffet McGraw's threshold for turnovers in a game while running the motion Princeton offense is 15. The Irish averaged 15.0 turnovers per game during their 12‑1 start — but the figure was 18.4 in their last five contests prior to conference play in January, with a season‑high 23 in the victory at UCLA. Each of the top six players had a minimum of 20 turnovers.
