"I raised my kids here," Tolbert said. "Michigan is where I've been a good many years in the past. God willing, hopefully I can be a part of bringing Michigan back in the na- tional discussion of things." Getting to know Michigan's present players and establishing relationships with them is step one, he said. "There's no magic there with me," he said. "To me, the magic is what you do every day. You grab your hard hat and your lunch box, and get to work. There are no secrets, no gurus in my view. It's just real simple. "I used to watch my dad get up at 4 a.m. and go to work, get up the next day and do it again. That's what I'm about." One of Harbaugh's top priorities in coming to Michigan involved putting together an excellent staff. He's as- sembled one that has raised a number of eyebrows, given the experience and reputation of those gathering to mold the next several crews of Wolverines. Here's a breakdown of the newcom- ers made official by Michigan through mid-January and what they bring to crafting U-M football in the future. The Tim Drevno File Position: Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line. Most Recent Venue: USC (Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Co- ordinator, 2014). Highlights: Worked with Jim Harbaugh previously as an offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers, a tight ends and then offensive line coach at Stanford and the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at the Univer- sity of San Diego, totaling 11 years … Coached center Max Tuerk to All-Pac-12 first-team honors in 2014 … Trojans rushed for 2,092 yards and passed for 3,856, ranking 31st nationally in total offense with 457.5 yards per game … Coached 2013 Pro Bowl offensive line- men Joe Staley and Mike Iupati, and saw all five of his linemen selected to the 2012 Pro Bowl … Coached center Chase Beeler to All-America first-team honors in 2010 … Coordinated the na- tion's top FCS offense in 2006 (494.3 yards per game) and in 2003 (483.3 yards per game), and was third in 2005. Coaching History: Southern Cal run- ning game coordinator and offensive line coach (2014); San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach (2011-13); Stan- ford offensive line coach (2009-10) and tight ends coach (2007-08); University of San Diego offensive coordinator and offensive line coach (2003-06); Idaho offensive line coach (2000-02); San Jose State offensive line coach (1999); UNLV running backs coach (1998); Montana State running backs coach (1996-97) and tight ends coach (1993-95).
