FROM OUR READERS shocked to see Tyrone Wheatley get local head coaching offers from EMU, WMU, CMU if things go sour in those programs. I'm sure he would have plenty of offensive coordinator offers if he wanted, but I think he stays at Michigan until someone of- fers him a head coaching spot. I don't think we have ever had so much emphasis on the offensive game plan —- from what I recall, Lloyd [Carr] had a plain old offensive coordinator, Rich Ro- driguez called his own plays and Al Borges/Doug Nussmeier were the offensive coordinators under Hoke. Now to have an offensive line specialist and Wheatley coordinating and perfect- ing the running game; a pass specialist coordinating the passing game; and Jim Harbaugh to call the plays — wow. Those offensive game planning meetings and practices are going to be awesome. In past years, we've looked unprepared and all over the place on offense. Now we have specialists in place perfecting each part of the offense with Jim Harbaugh calling plays — wow. Love that we have a dedicated special teams coach — hopefully he doesn't coach anything else. I want this guy just coaching special teams — it's such an important part of the game if you want to compete on the highest level. SOHOAFFAIR • I rooted for OSU [against Alabama] because it completed the SEC West smack- down for the bowl season and it was very enjoyable to watch that conference and division take it on the chin after years of being hailed as the best of all time. No way can I root for OSU in the championship game! Big Ten prominence or not, I'll be happy to let Jim Harbaugh and Michigan carry the Big Ten to its next cycle of dominance and don't care to see or need OSU to carry the torch for the conference. It will still be significant when Michigan beats Ohio State (national champion or not). Hulkster53 Moving or flying south for the winter? DON'T MISS AN ISSUE OF THE WOLVERINE!
