6 Football seasons in a row in 2015 that newly named as- sociate head coach/wide receivers coach Mike Denbrock and newly named recruiting coordinator/linebackers coach Mike Elston will be with head coach Brian Kelly at Notre Dame. It is the first time Fighting Irish assistants will be with the same head coach more than five straight years since the nine sea- sons offensive line coach Joe Moore spent with Lou Holtz from 1988-96. 35 Years served by the late Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C. (1952-87) as president of the University of Notre Dame. It was the third-longest tenure by any college president during the 20th century, behind Nicholas Murray Butler 's 43 (1902-45) at Columbia University and Henry Nelson Snyder 's 40 (1902-42) at Wofford College. The second-longest term served at Notre Dame was by the founder of the school, Rev. Edward Sorin's 23 years from 1842-65. 54-7 Final regular-season record, prior to conference tournaments, by the Notre Dame men's (26-5) and women's (28-2) basketball teams. That combined winning per- centage of .885 was the best in the nation for the two basketball programs, just ahead of Wichita State's 52-7 mark for the men (27-3) and women's (25-4) teams and Maryland's 52-7, which saw the men finish 25-5 and the women 27-2 (with a 92-72 loss to Notre Dame Dec. 3). 96.2 Save percentage (279 out of 290 attempts) by Notre Dame freshman goaltender Cal Petersen to lead the nation in that category during the month of February. It helped the Irish upset top-10 opponents Providence, Boston University and Boston College on consecutive weekends prior to the Hockey East playoffs. Petersen was credited with 55 saves during a 3-1 Irish victory against BC in the regular season Feb. 28. It marked the most saves by a Notre Dame goalie since Nov. 12, 1988, when Lance Madson made 57 in a 6-3 loss to Air Force. 287 Career receptions returning to the Notre Dame lineup in 2015, or nearly quadruple that of 2014. Last year at this time the total was 73, with Chris Brown's 17 representing the most by any single pass catcher.
