pointed out that Reimer was the lone
player who exerted acceptable effort
on defense. (In the 13 games hence, the
Irish are yielding barely more than 54
points per game.)
A week later at Virginia Tech, Re-
imer chipped a tooth while making
the concerted effort of becoming more
aggressive.
"It's a team sport, bottom line," Re-
imer said of the mishap. "I'm just try-
ing to be productive with everything
and anything the team needs."
After returning to the starting
lineup, Reimer became more consis-
tent on both ends of the floor, averag-
ing 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per
game in the ensuing seven contests.
The final piece also was about the
middle — adding a consistent mid-
range jump shot to her repertoire.
Most of her shots kept rimming out
Reimer has gradually progressed in every part of her game, most recently with her mid-range jumper as
evidenced by her 8-of-8 shooting performance from the floor during a 68-52 victory versus No. 8 Louisville
Feb. 23.
