FOOTBALL RECRUITING DT CHRIS DANIELS Eluess Trinity • 6‑4, 300 Four-star recruit, No. 9 player in Texas, and No. 9 defensive tackle and No. 70 overall prospect nationally Daniels plays his high school ball in Texas, but spent much of his youth in west Michigan, attending Muskegon Mona Shores during his freshman year of high school. That connection alone — he grew up a Michigan fan — gives the Wolver- ines a great shot. He has camped in Ann Arbor in the past, but includes Texas A&M and several other local programs among his more than two dozen offers. Daniels is a pass rusher from the interior of the defensive line, burst- ing into the backfield to become a disruptive force. He also has the sheer mass to hold up as a run stuffer, where his strength helps him stand up the point of attack. RB RAKEEM BOYD Houston Stratford • 6‑0, 195 Four-star recruit, No. 26 player in Texas, and No. 10 running back and No. 210 overall prospect nationally Boyd has a Michigan connection — he attends the same high school as former Stanford quarterback An- drew Luck, who headed to The Farm specifically to play for Jim Harbaugh. The coaching staff at Stratford re- mains intact (and very close with Harbaugh). The lone catch to his U-M interest may be that the Wolver- ines already have a pair of tailbacks in the fold for 2016. Boyd has excellent speed from the running back position and is able to break big plays when he gets clean blocking. His change-of-direction ability and power are both areas he's working to improve, but he has the work ethic to round into form. S JAYLON JONES Allen High School • 5‑11, 172 Four-star recruit, No. 31 player in Texas, and No. 15 safety and No. 226 overall prospect nationally Jones, like Californian Alex Ak- ingbulu, has a coach who is close with the Michigan staff and spoke at the Wolverines' coaching clinic this winter. He also attends one of the most talented high schools in Texas, boasting five-star Texas A&M commit Gregory Little and several other players with Michigan offers. He plans to camp in Ann Arbor this Eluess (Texas) Trinity product Chris Daniels, Rivals.com's No. 9 defensive tackle and No. 70 overall player in the country, spent part of his youth in the state of Michigan and was a fan of the Wolverines.
