MICHIGAN RECRUITING News And Notes • Crete (Ill.) Monee cornerback An- thony Standifer is no longer commit- ted to Michigan. Standifer, who is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 46 cornerback nationally and the No. 14 overall senior in Illinois, opened up his recruitment on Dec. 10. • Michigan fans were hopeful that Can- ton (Ohio) GlenOak four-star running back Bri'onte Dunn would decommit from Ohio State in favor of Michigan, but that's no longer a possibility for the No. 5 prospect in the state of Ohio. After meeting with new Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer, Rivals.com's No. 10 run- ning back in the class of 2012 reaffirmed his commitment to Ohio State. • Michigan's coaching staff has turned up the heat up on some prospects that had fallen off the radar earlier this fall. Castle Rock (Colo.) Valor Christian of- fensive lineman Alex Kozan, who is rated as the No. 239 player and No. 30 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 prospect in Colorado, visited Ann Arbor in early December. West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial cornerback Armani Reeves committed to Penn State in the summer, but Rivals.com's No. 213 overall prospect in the country, No. 17 cornerback nationally and No. 2 player in Massachusetts, is considering a January visit. Lee's Summit (Mo.) West offensive lineman Evan Boehm is plan- ning to take a trip to Michigan in Janu- ary after decommitting from Missouri. He is ranked the No. 144 prospect and No. 4 guard in the nation, and the No. 4 senior in Missouri. South Bend (Ind.) Washington ath- lete David Perkins decommitted from Notre Dame in October, and Michigan has shown renewed interest in recruit- ing Rivals.com's No. 11 athlete in the country, No. 155 senior overall in the nation and No. 2 player in Indiana as a running back. If the Wolverines offer, a January visit is likely. • The Wolverines have been recruit- ing Puyallup (Wash.) offensive lineman Joshua Garnett hard all fall, but Notre Dame and Stanford are also in conten- tion. The 6-5, 295-pound prospect could play either guard or tackle at the next level. Rivals ranks him the No. 28 player and No. 7 offensive tackle in the country, and the top player in Washington. • A January visit to Ann Arbor will be 38 THE WOLVERINE JANUARY 2012 big in Michigan's recruit- ment of Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep cornerback Yuri Wright. He is a self- proclaimed Wolverines fan and has them atop his list along with Colorado, but Notre Dame is also coming on strong.
