During her freshman campaign, Tholl and her teammates finished a half game out of first place in the Big Ten, Michigan going 15-9 to Minne- sota's 15-8. The following year, the Wolverines wound up 16-8 to Iowa's conference-best 17-7. "We competed every year for the Big Ten title, even though we didn't win it," she said. "I think of the abso- lutely intense games we had against Iowa. They were our biggest rival. Michigan Accomplishments: Lettered at Mich‑ igan from 1988‑91, becoming the first player in conference history to earn first‑team All‑Big Ten honors four straight seasons … Became one of four Wolverines named to the Big Ten All‑Decade (1982‑92) softball squad … Led Michigan in runs scored and walks in three of her four seasons … Shares the Big Ten record for fewest strikeouts in a season (zero in 1991) … Holds the U‑M record for most steals in a game with four … Chosen to the All‑Mideast Regional team three times. Michigan Memory: "You realize how much history you have with all of these years and these graduates from different decades," she said. "They are connected to you forever. Your tree continues to branch out. We're connected to the class of 2014‑15, yet I'm still connected to the class of 1995. Then they come together, and you realize, you've connected to all of us, all of these years, and you'll be connected to us until the end of our lives. I think that's pretty powerful." Professional Accomplishments: Serving in her 22nd season as Michigan as‑ sistant softball coach, her 13th as associate head coach … Coached in all 10 of Michigan's Women's College World Series appearances, including the national championship season in 2005 … Coaching outfielders, Tholl helped develop six All‑Americans, including 14 All‑Big Ten performers who have combined for 29 all‑league selections … Part of the Speedline/NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2005. Education: Earned undergraduate degree in sports management and com‑ munications in 1991 … Added Master of Science degree in athletic administra‑ tion from Indiana University in 1993. Family: Has five older brothers and one older sister, along with 18 nephews and nieces, whom she describes as "all Michigan fans."
