2015 BASKETBALL RECRUITING ISSUE pect, having watched the Wolverines closely for the past few years. Beilein has made a living getting the most out of players as versatile as Battle, who can shoot it, get out offensively in transition, pass and defend. The overall presentation, though, was even more than Battle envisioned. "I really love the school," he said. "I really liked the school going up there, and the visit really clarified that for me. The mixture of academics and athletics at Michigan, the opportunity they are giving me, the coaching staff and the players — just everything was right. "All of them are great guys, and I had a good time with them, and then I met with a couple of the academic people. Going up there I knew Michi- gan was an amazing academic school, one of best in the country. You don't really get those opportunities every- where you can go. I'm really going to try to take advantage of that and make the most out of that." Sending so many players to the NBA in recent years didn't hurt the cause either, he admitted. At the end of the day, his father said, it was his son's choice, and he was pleased with the decision. "His mother liked Duke a lot, I liked Duke and Syracuse … but I was just as happy or even more happy with Michigan, Coach Beilein and his staff," Gary Battle said. "And at the end of the day it's about his life, and he loves the campus and the school. I think he'll be fine." More than fine, most likely, and he's eager to get there and prove it. ❏ The Wolverine • PO Box 2331 • Durham, NC 27702 • 1-800-421-7751 Visit our online store! www.TheWolverineOnDemand.com Choice of 2 Styles $ 59 95 FREE S&H (Cont.
