PREP PROFILES Salt Lake City Brighton wide re- ceiver Simi Fehoko released his top five list this spring, and one of the schools would appear to be a bit out of place. Three Pac-12 schools — Stanford, Utah and Washington — along with independent and Utah- based BYU, and t h e n M i c h i g a n make up the 6-2, 1 7 8 - p o u n d e r ' s group of favor- ites. Brighton High S c h o o l i s l e s s t h a n a n h o u r away from both Utah and BYU, so both schools are obvious choices for Fehoko's top group. The in-state programs could prove tough to beat considering his attachment to both places. "BYU has always been there from the very beginning," Fehoko said. "They were my third offer, and I love the coaches there; they've been treat- ing me like royalty. It's really close to home, and my parents would be able to get to all my games. "Utah is also close to home, and they were my second offer. I've grown up a Ute and been a Utah fan since I could remember. My cousin played there and I was at every home game, so I could definitely see myself there too." Despite familiarity with the Utah schools, Stanford is Fehoko's leader right now. He's been high on SU throughout, and once he picked up the offer they shot to the top of his list. "I love it at Stanford," Fehoko said. "The campus was nice and the whole setting of where it's located, plus it's a perfect blend of academ- ics and football. It's up there in all regards. "They've been my No. 1 for the longest time, and it's been great with them since I got that offer." Finally, the Wolverines are at a se- vere geographical disadvantage — but that doesn't seem to matter to the three-star deep threat, who caught 65 passes for 1,644 yards and 24 touch- downs and earned first-team 5-A (largest classification) all-state hon- ors as a junior. "The Michigan coaching staff has a lot of experience behind them," Fe- hoko said. "Coach Jim Harbaugh is a great coach who has shown he can win at all levels. I feel that with that coaching staff and the recruiting class they're signing, they're on the rise." The summer is approaching and with a final group Fehoko now is thinking about a timeline. "I don't have a date, but I'd rather do it sooner than later," he said. — Brandon Brown Wolverines Are In Utah Pass Catcher's Top Five ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Brighton High School Salt Lake City Class: 2016 Position: Wide Receiver Ht.: 6-2 • Wt.: 178 Rivals.com Rankings: No. 1 player in Utah and No. 54 wide receiver nationally Simi Fehoko
