"This year has been more about connecting her with the players around her. One of the key ar- eas Taylor needed to learn and grow in was her ability to move off the ball. "When she was in high school and club, the whole plan was to get her the ball and let her create. What she's really learning to do very well is to use that athleticism and that engine to make these fantastic runs off the ball to get in behind the defense to score easier goals. She has really grown in that area." Ryan thinks Timko's just getting started and that the future is going to be brighter than the past and the present. "If she's on the field, good things will happen," Ryan said. "She is phe- nomenal in terms of potential. She's still learning and growing all the time, and I don't think we are even halfway up the ladder to her ceiling." Caroline Knop VOLLEYBALL It's not every day that you hear about a high school athlete earning 16 varsity letters, but that's exactly what Caroline Knop did at LaSalle High School in Pasadena, Calif. As a junior, Knop earned all-area first- team honors in softball, was named to the all-area second-team in basket- Though only 5-8, Caroline Knop was tied to lead the volleyball team in kills (112) and was second in blocks (18) through 11 games, helping Michigan to a 10-1 mark.
