score was cut to 21-9. I sat
there and thought, "Why go
for two?"
I can now give Coach Kelly
some slack — but I agree with
you about when to do it. I
had completely forgot Ara
Parseghian went for two in
the second quarter that beat
Alabama, 24-23, to win the na-
tional title.
I am still not comfortable
with Brian VanGorder 's de-
fense.

Mr. Kelly, there is a correction
in the feature. On Sept. 19, Geor‑
gia Tech head coach Paul Johnson
went for two to cut the score to
30‑15 — and then kicked the ex‑
tra point to make it 30‑22 and
keep it a one‑score game in the
final minute.
BLESS ME FATHER …
Our Fighting Irish made me
commit a mortal sin — I just
had to root for USC Oct. 17
versus No. 3 Utah.
Ghosts of coaches and play-
ers past, please forgive me.
Mr. Rockne: It was my first
time.
