IRISH IN THE PROS
BY ANDREW OWENS
A
rizona Cardinals wide receiver
Michael Floyd burned Cleveland
Browns cornerback Joe Haden for a 60-
yard touchdown to help his team turn a
20-7 deficit into a 34-20 win Nov. 1.
What made the former Irish product's
play especially impressive was that it
came against Haden, one of the top cor-
nerbacks in the NFL. The receiver's win
in the one-on-one matchup surprised
many, but certainly not Floyd.
"I told [quarterback Carson Palmer]
and I told [head coach Bruce Arians],
'He's letting me get open,' " Floyd told
reporters.
He said he noticed Haden leaving the
outside open before the snap, a detail
that led to the 60-yard score.
After being held scoreless in the first
five games of 2015, Floyd reached the
end zone in three straight contests. Dur-
ing that span, he snagged 12 catches for
215 yards and the three touchdowns.
Three dislocated fingers that required
surgery in August slowed the beginning
of Floyd's season, but he appears to once
again be healthy in a three-headed re-
ceiving corps with Larry Fitzgerald and
John Brown.

Floyd had an injury-plagued start to the 2015 season, but he has rebounded in a strong Arizona offense
and had 20 catches for 319 yards and three touchdowns through Nov. 1.
