UNDER THE DOME Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Kaela Little — Soccer The junior goalkeeper from Tulsa, Okla., was named ACC Defen- sive Player of the Week Nov. 3 after the No. 14 Irish knocked off then-No. 5 Virginia Tech 3-0 Oct. 30. It was the seventh shutout of the year for the former Notre Dame Freshman MVP, who tallied five saves and lowered her goals-against average to 0.47 following the win. Virginia Tech was averaging more than two goals per game entering the contest. Evan Panken — Soccer The senior midfielder from Edina, Minn., contributed to Notre Dame's first two tallies in their 5-0 victory over visiting Pitt on Senior Day Oct. 31. Panken assisted on a goal by sophomore forward Jon Gallagher in the 17th minute, then scored a goal of his own in the 54th minute. Through 17 matches, Panken led the Irish in assists (eight) and ranked second in points (12). Cal Peterson — Hockey The sophomore goalkeeper from Waterloo, Iowa, picked up Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors Nov. 2 after leading the Irish to a 2-0 sweep over Connecticut Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Peterson posted a 1.50 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage while leading Notre Dame to a 2-1 win Oct. 31 and an 8-2 triumph Nov. 1. After five starts, Peterson boasted a 2-1-2 record, a 2.91 goals- against average and a .913 save percentage. Lindsey Streepey — Swimming & Diving The senior diver from Dallas won both the one-meter (294.00 points) and the three-meter (332.80 points) events in Notre Dame's 158-80 win over visiting Michigan State Oct. 30. In a quick turnaround the following day at Purdue, the two- time All-American placed second in the three-meter (300.35 points) and third in the one-meter (283.20) in a meet against the Boilermakers and Ohio State.
