GAME PREVIEW: BOSTON COLLEGE "The biggest problem really is the of- fensive line," Hoffses said. "They had to replace four starters this year. The one guy that did come back, Harris Wil- liams, got hurt for the season last year and is coming back from a severe ankle injury. "Before he got injured, he was per- forming at an All-ACC level, but he just hasn't been the same guy since the in- jury. With him still hobbling, and the four new starters, they really have no offensive linemen that have been even consistently average. When that hap- pens, everything else tends to tumble after that." If a struggling offensive line wasn't bad enough, starting sophomore quar- terback Darius Wade suffered a season- ending injury in the third game of the season against Florida State, prompting Addazio's team to try three different freshmen signal-callers in replacement duty. The most recent to emerge is John Fadule, who is a walk-on. In Boston Col- lege's 24-8 loss to North Carolina State Nov. 7, he completed 23 of 37 passes (62.2 percent) for 257 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. "Fadule was recruited to play by some FCS schools, including Harvard," Hoffses said. "He turned that down to walk on at BC, and now he's getting se- rious action. He has a pretty good arm. He's not fast, but he is a smart runner — when he sees an opening, he's going to take it. And like you expect a walk-on to be, he's tough as nails. "When he's running, he'll lower his Junior linebacker Matt Milano recorded 6.5 of the Eagles 31 sacks — which ranked 12th nationally — through 10 games. PHOTO COURTESY BOSTON COLLEGE
