INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MICHIGAN'S TOP OLYMPIC SPORTS PERFORMERS Men's soccer sophomore Evan Louro: The South River, N.J., native enjoyed one of the best seasons ever recorded by a Michigan goalie. His 0.83 goals-against average ranks second all time (0.82, Peter Dzubay in 2002), while his seven shutouts are also second (eight, Patrick Sperry in 2007). The 6-3, 220-pounder also posted the third-best save percent- age (.795). Women's golf senior Catherine Peters: The Clarence, N.Y., native carded an 11-under-par 205 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Oct. 30-31, tying the school-record for a 54-hole tournament. Peters shot a 4-under 68 in each of her first two rounds and finished with a 3-under 69. She shares the program record with junior Grace Choi, who also carded an 11-under 205 at the same event. Men's swimming senior Dylan Bosch: The native South African was named the Big Ten Co-Swimmer of the Week Nov. 4 after winning four individual events at Michigan's meet with Virginia and Penn State Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Bosch recorded the best times in the country this year in the 200-yard butterfly (1:44.69) and 200-yard individual med- ley (1:45.86), and also took first place in the 100-yard but- terfly (47.72) and 400-yard individual medley (3:53.09). Men's tennis redshirt sophomore Davis Crocker: The Kalamazoo, Mich., native scored an impressive win, cap- turing the Big Ten indoor singles title Nov. 7-9 in Iowa City. Crocker began the tournament with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Wisconsin's Alan Sweet and then dropped his opening game against Illinois' Alex Jesse 6-7. Crocker would not lose another game, winning eight straight, and 10 of 11 in six matches to claim the crown. Women's basketball freshman Hallie Thome: The 6-5 rookie center is off to a great start for the 2-0 Wolverines, scoring 27 points with a team-high 12 rebounds and three blocks through Nov. 16. After a six-point debut against Binghamton Nov. 14, Thome really got going with a 21-point binge in Michigan's 88-61 victory over Detroit Nov. 15.
