UNDER THE DOME
4
Seniors on the Notre Dame men's and women's soc-
cer teams who earned Academic All-America notice:
Midfielder Patrick Hodan (3.897 grade-point average on
a 4.0 scale, finance major) and defender Michael Shipp
(3.974, pre-med and Spanish) were both on the first
team for the men, while the women were represented
by defender/midfielder Cari Roccaro (3.59, sociology)
on the first team and defender Katie Naughton (3.55,
anthropology) on the second. Hodan, who helped the
Irish to the 2013 national title, was named the 2015
CoSida Academic All-America of the Year for Division I
men's soccer, the second Irish player in the past three
years to earn the honor (Harrison Shipp received
the award in 2013).
11
Touchdown receptions in only 10 games
(through the weekend of Nov. 22) by
former Notre Dame tight end T Y L E R
EIFERT (2009-12). That already tied the most ever
in one season by a Fighting Irish alumnus in the
NFL, with 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame en-
shrinee Tim Brown also catching 11 in 2000.
The most ever by a Notre Dame tight end
alumnus was by another Pro Football Hall
of Fame member — 10 by Dave Casper
(1971-73) in 1976.
