team to be successful. And Jackson's done just that, averaging 20.7 points per game on 60.0 percent
shooting through three contests.
Auguste has benefited from the more aggressive Jackson. The two have formed a lethal combination
in the high screen pick and roll game, with Jackson making great decisions either driving to the hole or
passing the ball off to Auguste. The 6-9 forward averaged 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest in
Notre Dame's first three games, up from averages of 12.9 points and 6.5 rebounds last year.
3. Rookie Receives Early Minutes — A three-star recruit in the 2014-15 class, freshman Matt Ryan aver-
aged 17.3 minutes per game in the first three outings of the season, earning his time with his consistent
three-point shot and effort on defense. Ryan's quick release enables him to step in as a scorer right away,
and Brey has praised his energy on defense. Look for Ryan to get even more minutes going forward if he
maintains his current level of play.
