GAME PREVIEW: OHIO STATE "Bosa did not finish as Defensive Player of the Year in the Big Ten," Noon said. "He didn't finish with the num‑ bers he had last year because teams just aren't going to let Bosa beat them this year. "He's taken on some triple teams this year. He has a great combination of size and technique — he may not be the quickest player on the field, but he's faster than you think. He's a genera‑ tional‑type player." Senior defensive tackle and second‑ team Big Ten selection Adolphus Wash‑ ington will not play against the Irish, a welcome note for Notre Dame's of‑ fensive line. He's suspended for the contest after a Dec. 9 first‑degree mis‑ demeanor charge for solicitation. "That's a huge blow for them," Noon said. "He's been the guy that's really benefited from all the attention paid to Bosa this season. "Ohio State does not have a lot of defensive tackle depth. It's a hard posi‑ tion to amass depth. This could impact what they really want to do defensively — they have some depth at end, but it's just not the same at tackle. "Of all the positions for Ohio State to lose someone at on the defensive side of the ball, tackle is where they are most vulnerable." Two of Ohio State's most productive defensive players in terms of stats re‑ side in the linebacker group. Sopho‑ more Raekwon McMillan and senior Joshua Perry lead the Buckeyes in total tackles with 114 and 98, respectively. "They've been very good," Noon said. "They set themselves up to an impossible standard last season, but they've been consistent. "McMillan in the middle is still learn‑ ing on the job as a true sophomore, but they funnel a lot of things into him."
