Three-cone drill: 8.03 seconds 20-yard shuttle: 4.90 seconds BGI Football Analyst Bryan Driskell: Stanley did nothing to hurt his stock, but he also did not do any- thing to challenge Ole Miss standout Laremy Tunsil for the top spot at offensive tackle. Several offensive tackles looking to push up or into the first round put up much better testing numbers than Stanley, who ran a solid 5.2 in the 40 but had pedestrian numbers in the three-cone drill (8.03) and the pro shuttle (4.9). Not competing in the bench press also did not do anything to answer the ques- tions about his strength. SHELDON DAY, DT Height: 6-1 • Weight: 293 pounds Arm length: 32.625 inches • Hands: 9.625 inches 40-yard dash: 5.07 seconds • Bench press: 21 reps Vertical jump: 30 inches Broad jump: 102 inches Three-cone drill: 7.44 seconds 20-yard shuttle: 4.50 seconds BGI Football Analyst Bryan Driskell: As was ex- pected, Day did not have a strong Combine perfor- mance. The traits that make Day such a productive football player do not show up in events such as this. Day only ran a 5.07 in the 40, but his 1.69 10-yard split was one of the best among all the defensive tackles in attendance. It shows Day's ability to get a strong burst off the line, backing up what scouts and evaluators have seen on film. ROMEO OKWARA, DE Height: 6-5• Weight: 265 pounds Arm length: 34.125 inches • Hands: 10.125 inches 40-yard dash: 4.90 seconds • Bench press: 23 reps Vertical jump: 33 inches Broad jump: 120 inches Three-cone drill: 7.38 seconds 20-yard shuttle: 4.53 seconds BGI Football Analyst Bryan Driskell: Okwara took full advantage of his opportunity to make a name for himself. He measured in very well at 6-5 and 265 pounds with 34.125-inch arms. He also performed well in the power drills. His 4.90 time in the 40 was solid for a player his size, but his 23 reps on the bench tied for ninth out of 23 players (he tied with Oklahoma's Charles Tapper, Michigan State's Shilique Calhoun and Baylor's Shawn Oakman). In addition, he was tied for 10th out of 26 players with a solid 33-inch vertical jump. JAYLON SMITH, LB Height: 6-2• Weight: 223 pounds Arm length: 33 inches • Hands: 9.5 inches 40-yard dash: DNP* Vertical jump: DNP* Broad jump: DNP* * Did not participate in any on-field events while he recovers from a torn ACL and LCL KEIVARAE RUSSELL, CB Height: 5-11 • Weight: 192 pounds Arm length: 31.625 inches • Hands: 10 inches 40-yard dash: DNP* • Bench press: 17 reps Vertical jump: DNP* * Did not participate in on-field activities while recov- ering from a fractured tibia BGI Football Analyst Bryan Driskell: All Russell did was the bench press, and his 17 reps tied for ninth among cornerbacks. He will have to put together a strong athletic per- formance at Notre Dame's pro day March 31 if he wants to improve his stock. ELIJAH SHUMATE, S Height: 6-0 • Weight: 216 pounds Arm length: 31.125 inches • Hands: 9.75 inches 40-yard dash: 4.58 seconds • Bench press: 18 reps Vertical jump: 33 inches Broad jump: 119 inches 20-yard shuttle: 4.51 seconds BGI Football Analyst Bryan Driskell: Shumate showed himself at the Combine to be the same player he was on film. He's a well-built safety with good downhill speed and power. His 4.58 in the 40-yard dash was sixth among safeties and his 18 reps on the bench tied for third.
