He shot 43.9 percent from long range in his career, knocking down 83 triples — 39 as a freshman and 44 this past season. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Dawkins will have to sit out the 2016-17 season before becom- ing eligible. He will have two years of eligibility remaining. Michigan assistant coach LaVall Jordan has also left after being tabbed as the new head coach at Milwaukee April 7. Jordan had been an assistant under head coach John Beilein since 2010. He had previously been an assistant at Butler, his alma mater, and Iowa before joining Beilein in Ann Arbor. Jordan tutored National Player of the Year Trey Burke, Darius Morris and several oth- ers, and was a finalist for the Butler head coach- ing job in 2013. Michigan big man coach Bacari Alexander was also rumored to be the frontrunner for the head coach job at the University of Detroit, his alma mater. The school has not announced a hire as of April 11.
