MICHIGAN IN THE PROS The NBA JAMAL CRAWFORD IN CONTENTION FOR ANOTHER SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD Two-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year (2010 and 2014) Jamal Craw- ford might just be in line to win the award for a third time. Teammates started stumping for him after he scored 30 points while adding five rebounds and four as- sists in 49 minutes of a 102-99 over- time win at Utah April 8. Clippers forward Jeff Green told The Los Angeles Times he'd have trou- ble finding anyone who deserved the award more. "Night in, night out, he's bringing it," Green said after Crawford's big night during a rare start. "People can say he's this age, that age, but age ain't nothing but a number. "I'm speechless right now, the way he's been playing when guys are out. He's been playing amazing. Amaz- ing. He has the ticket of youth. He's getting it done. He's the reason why we won." Crawford was averaging 14.1 points per game since Christmas, The Times reported, and led all NBA reserves in scoring since Dec. 25. He was No. 1 in the NBA in free throw accuracy (91.3 percent) and was the Clippers' leader in fourth-quarter scoring through April 10. New Orleans' Ryan Anderson (17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game), Oklahoma City's Enes Kanter (12.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest) and Boston's Evan Turner (10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.5 as- sists outing) were among Crawford's primary competitors for the honor.
