Five Best Plays From The Spring Game 1. O'Korn To Morris To Johnson — There's no doubt about this one, both for the spring game entertainment value and what it might mean at just the right time later in the year. Redshirt junior quarterback Shane Morris lines up at wideout, takes a pass from redshirt junior QB John O'Korn and fires back across the field to a wide-open fifth-year senior running back Drake Johnson for a touchdown. It was smooth from start to finish, and having another quarterback on the field works in this way better than a wideout trying to throw. Plus, Morris can run decently well with a thrown ball (which a 25-yard reception later demonstrated), so it's not a dead giveaway. 2. Defensive Pileup On The Final Play — Redshirt junior fullback Henry Poggi almost got into the end zone on the attempted two-point conversion that would have turned a 14-13 Maize win into a 15-14 victory for the Blue. But he didn't, be- cause the Maize team — loaded with lots of presumed starters on the Michigan defense — rose up and said no. It was strength against strength, with the Blue featuring three of Michigan's ones on the starting offensive line. This time, the defense won out — barely. Fifth-year senior running back Drake Johnson opened the spring game scoring by catch- ing a double-pass from redshirt junior Shane Morris, who was lined up at wide receiver on the play.
