MICHIGAN BASKETBALL BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK • Redshirt sophomore wing Duncan Robinson recorded his first career double- double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in Michigan's 67-62 win over Tulsa March 16. The effort helped the Wolverines win the NCAA Tournament First Four contest in Dayton, Ohio. • The NCAA Tournament appearance by the Wolverines made it six times in nine years that head coach John Beilein has guided a Michigan team to the Big Dance. U-M has been there five of the past six seasons. • Beilein's 189 wins at Michigan ranks third on the all-time U-M list, behind only Bill Frieder (191) and Johnny Orr (209). • Junior guard Derrick Walton Jr. made a career-high six steals in Michigan's 70-63 loss to Notre Dame March 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The loss bounced the Wolverines from the NCAA Tournament. • Michigan's all-time NCAA Tournament record fell to 52-24 with the loss. Beilein teams at Michigan are 11-6 in the event. • Freshman forward Moritz Wagner posted career highs in blocks (four) and rebounds (eight) versus Tulsa, while tying a career high in steals (one). • The loss to the Irish marks the first ever by the Wolverines in the NCAA Tournament. Michigan won the other two meetings, in 1974 and 1976. • The Wolverines connected on 10 three-pointers versus Notre Dame. They wound up with 342 on the year, a single-season record by a Michigan team. The previous record was 319, set in 2013- 14. • Robinson finished with 95 three- pointers on the season, only the fifth Michigan player to ever top 90 in a sin- gle year. His total ranks No. 3 among U-M three-point scorers in a season.
