136 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING level, resulting in modest stats. He had 26 tackles, one interception, 10 passes broken up and a fumble recovery. At 6‑0, 180 pounds, In‑ gram has solid size for the position. He also has an al‑ most 6‑7 wingspan that al‑ lows him to play taller. The one question mark on Ingram is his athleticism, which is average. He made an early commitment to NC State, but that has not stopped schools like Clemson, Maryland and North Carolina from continuing to pursue him. Rivals.com rates him a three‑star talent and the No. 39 cornerback nationally. 10. JONAH MELTON, OG Mebane Eastern Alamance High Melton is a high‑motor offensive line‑ man with strong hands. He is good at finishing blocks once he is able to engage the defender, and he shows good footwork and knee bend. Melton's lack of length (6‑3, 290 pounds) makes him a likely guard in college. Although he is not a great ath‑ lete for his size, he shows that he can pull effectively from his left tackle spot in high school. He will have to overcome a torn ACL that he suffered this past spring at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour stop in Charlotte. Rivals.com rates Melton as a four‑star prospect, and the No. 7 offensive guard and No. 161 overall player in the country. He made an early verbal commitment to UNC. 11. GRANT GIBSON, DT Charlotte Mallard Creek High If Gibson were three inches taller, he would probably be an elite recruit. At 6‑0½, he does not have ideal height and length. He is also a bit of an unknown at defensive tackle since he spent his junior season playing guard for Mallard Creek. Gibson, who played defense as a sopho‑ more, will return to defensive tackle this fall. Athletically, he can certainly handle the position. At 302 pounds, he was laser‑ timed at 5.26 seconds in the 40 at the Nike Opening in Charlotte, ran the shuttle in 4.76 seconds and had a 31.0‑inch vertical jump. Rivals.com rates Gibson as a four‑star talent and the No. 16 defensive tackle in the country. He has verbally committed to NC State. HALE PLUMBING INC. Commercial & Residential Plumbing James K.
