THE BIG PICTURE
FLYING (AND FINISHING) HIGH
Fifth-year senior Mason Ferlic wrapped up his Michigan career by winning
the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships June 10. He out-
paced the field in 8:27.16 to capture his first-ever national crown and give the
Wolverines a trio of first-team All-Americans, the program's most top-eight
finishers since 1997. The standout performances allowed U-M to tie for 13th,
which marked just the school's second top-15 outdoor showing since 1961.
