PREP PROFILES At 6‑8 and 283 pounds, Nashville (Tenn.) Davidson Academy offen‑ sive tackle Obinna Eze immediately stands out. Once you realize he has only been playing football for a cou‑ ple of years, he really stands out. The Nigeria native relocated to the United States in 2015 and after add‑ ing more than 40 pounds to his 6‑8 frame, he quickly became a favorite of college football coaches. Schools like LSU, Ten‑ nessee, Alabama, G e o r g i a a n d Michigan have offered him, and he's starting to make a name for himself as a mean, athletic, unpolished lineman pros‑ pect on the camp circuit. "I've been to a lot of camps, but I'm still curious about a few schools," Eze said. "I've seen pretty much everything in the SEC, but I want to go elsewhere and see what they have to offer. Once I get that out of my way, I think I'll be ready. I'm not naming a top list. I'm going straight to make a commitment." Michigan is one of the schools that Eze has mentioned as one of the schools he's very intrigued by. Rivals.com's No. 27 offensive tackle and No. 225 overall prospect in the country couldn't believe that a school like Michigan knew who he was and was willing to offer him a scholarship. "Out of all of my offers, Michigan is the only one that caught me off guard," Eze said. "I didn't know peo‑ ple on the other side of the country knew me. "I was just happy, and I've had such a great relationship with Jim [Harbaugh] and Jay [Harbaugh]." Eze even said that people in Ni‑ geria are aware of Michigan, includ‑ ing someone very important to his recruitment. "Michigan is a big institution," h e s a i d . " M y m o m i n N i g e ‑ ria knows what school Michigan is. I'm just grateful for that offer." Rivals.com Southeast recruiting analyst Woody Wommack has been plugged into Eze's recruitment since the big tackle arrived in the United States. "Memphis remains a dark horse for Eze, but schools such as Ten‑ nessee and Kentucky both feel con‑ fident about their position too," Wommack said. "While he has a few more visits on the schedule, it's clear he's ready to get things wrapped up soon.
