BASKETBALL RECRUITING BRAD DAVISON, SG, 2017 Maple Grove (Minn.) High 6-3 • 190 Rivals.com's No. 119 senior nationally Davison visited Michigan June 27 on a road trip that also included trips to Stanford, Northwestern, Wiscon- sin, Northern Iowa and others. He recently picked up tenders from the Wolverines and the Badgers, af- ter the foundation was laid in the spring. The two-sport star took his game to another level in May to earn added interest, shooting 43.5 per- cent from long range and becoming one of the Nike EYBL [Elite Youth Basketball League] circuit's lead- ing scorers for the top team, How- ard Pulley AAU. He averaged 17.0 points and 4.3 assists per game. Davison played quarterback on the football team and helped lead Maple Grove to the state semifinals the last two years with a combined 19-5 re- cord. He also helped the school reach the state quarterfinals in basketball and finish with a 26-6 record. "The highlight was meeting the coaches and the players at each uni- versity and spending that time with my parents," Davison said of his tour, noting there wasn't much time for sightseeing. "We got back to our hotels around midnight each night and had to leave early each morning. "It was the coolest experience see- ing each school and getting to know the people." That included Beilein, with whom he has forged a great relationship. BRIAN BOWEN, SF, 2017 La Porte, (Ind.) La Lumiere School 6-6 • 175 Rivals.com's No. 18 senior nationally "Tugs" as he's called is related to former Michigan State standout Jason Richardson and originally hails from the Saginaw area. He's one of the elite players in his class and picked up his U-M offer in June. Bowen averaged 18.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, while shoot- ing 43.2 percent from the field and 20.8 percent on three-pointers for MeanStreets AAU in Nike EYBL play. "I was offered by Michigan on June 11 when I visited campus," Bowen said. "It was good. I really enjoyed myself." Bowen is thought to be waiting on a Kentucky offer, and holds offers from Louisville, Indiana, Texas, Villanova and several others. He said North Car- olina State, Oklahoma State, Villanova, Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky, UCLA, Texas and Kansas were all re- cruiting him "pretty hard." "I don't have any official visit dates set, but there are a lot of schools that want to get me to campus," he said. "I'll have to see where Kentucky and Duke's minds are at. I'm not sure if they will offer or when they will." BRANDON JOHNS, PF, 2018 East Lansing (Mich.) High 6-7 • 189 Rivals.com's No. 28 junior nationally Michigan was among the first to prioritize Johns, and he's a great fit — a stretch four who can shoot it.
