INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS the ban was enacted then lifted. Some sort of a limit will likely be in place next year and that might make the entire situation more feasible. Harbaugh Is No Longer An Army Of One By Brandon Justice In the beginning stages of the satellite camp controversy, Jim Harbaugh had very little support. Negative comments from Paul Finebaum, Nick Saban and Kirby Smart left Harbaugh on an island — and he did just fine. His constant defense and battle for the camps lead to recruits, their families and a handful of college coaches fighting for them to stay afloat. Logically, the camps do not play in Michigan's favor. They're spending buckets of money, they do not stay in the same bed longer than a day, they can't recruit and they will probably only offer about five to seven kids. What if Harbaugh and company just enjoy the camps for the kids' sake? The camps allow the U-M coaches to make a difference off of their own field and instead on someone else's. It allows kids to get exposure from the loads of lower-division schools in attendance. After seeing these camps first hand, it really is for the kids. Oddly enough, after the ban, initial opponents of the practice like Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky ran camps together with Michigan. If the camps leading to unfair recruiting advantages were the point behind the SEC's support of the ban, then why join Michigan just weeks after calling for the outlawing of them? The SEC coaches have been relatively silent since they got to see the camps first hand. Maybe that's because they now see that these are a good thing. 2 Is where Tom Brady ranked on the NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2016.
