Mokhtar Al-Yamani, swimming — The Tokyo, Japan, native was a Big Ten champion in the 800-yard free- style relay and also earned first-team All-Big Ten honors. He was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week and Fresh- man of the Week Feb. 18 after winning the 100 freestyle (43.23), 200 freestyle (1:34.77) and 500 freestyle (4:22.83) at Michigan's First Chance Meet. — Chris Balas Francis Atuahene debuted with 10 goals and 13 assists to become just the second freshman in program history to earn All-Big Ten first-team and All-America honors from multiple outlets.
