The Virginia Athletics Foundation and
the Athletics Academic Affairs Office
honored fourth- and fifth-year graduat-
ing student-athletes on Friday, May 19
at the John Paul Jones Arena. Of the 137
graduates, 14 earned their Master's de-
gree and 123 completed their Bachelor's
degree. Student-athletes were joined by
their families, coaches, faculty and aca-
demic advisors for a breakfast event to
recognize their outstanding accomplish-
ments both on and off the field.
Associate Athletics Director for Aca-
demic Affairs, Adrien Harraway, emceed
the event. Dirk Katstra, VAF Executive
Director and Senior Associate Athlet-
ics Director, also shared sentiments of
his appreciation for the Class of 2017's
accomplishments and devotion to the
University. Each student-athlete received
a unique tri-color honor cord to dis-
tinguish their contributions to Virginia
Athletics as they walked the Lawn on
graduation day.
