www.BLUEANDGOLD.com NOV. 12, 2018 9 UNDER THE DOME 6 Fourth-year scholarship seniors who are in their final season of eligibility and will play their last home game in Notre Dame Stadium, versus Florida State Nov. 10: safety/nickel Nick Coleman, linebacker Te'von Coney, safety Nicco Fertitta, defen- sive tackle Jerry Tillery, running back DEXTER WILLIAMS and kicker Justin Yoon. 7 Fifth-year seniors, or graduate students, who will play or walk out of the tunnel in their final game in Notre Dame Stadium, versus Florida State Nov. 10: guard Alex Bars (injured), nose guard Jonathan Bonner, center Sam Mustipher, punter Tyler Newsome, running back Keenan Sweeney, linebacker Drue Tranquill and tight end Nic Weishar. 8 Scholarship seniors on the 2018 football roster who have a fifth season of eligibility remaining in 2019, so Senior Day this year might not necessarily be their final game in a Fighting Irish uniform. The octet is comprised of rover As- mar Bilal, wide receiver Miles Boykin, cornerback Shaun Crawford (who actually could apply for a sixth season as well if he wants to down the road), defensive lineman Micah Dew-Treadway, wide receiver Chris Finke, tight end Alizé Mack, offensive guard Trevor Ruhland and quarterback Brandon Wimbush. Some will return, some will opt to turn pro, and others will either move on in their post-football careers or use their fifth season as a graduate transfer elsewhere in 2019. 10 Senior walk-ons who will be honored on Senior Day for their service to the program through the years: cornerback Brian Ball, defensive lineman Lincoln Feist, quarterback Nolan Henry, defensive lineman Brandon Hutson, linebacker Kier Murphy, offensive lineman Logan Plantz, linebacker Robert Regan, punter Jeff Riney, linebacker Devyn Spruell and linebacker Jimmy Thompson. 11 Natives from Florida who will compete against the in-state Seminoles Nov. 10. That is tied with California for the second largest volume from one state on this year's team, behind only the 16 from Illinois. The breakdown from the football hotbed includes two seniors in linebacker Te'von Coney (Palm Beach Garden) and Dexter Williams (Orlando); three juniors in linebacker Jonathan Jones (Ocoee), running back Tony Jones Jr. (St. Petersburg) and safety Devin Studstill (Riviera Beach); two sophomores in offensive linemen Dillan Gibbons (Clearwater) and linebacker Drew White (Boca Raton); and four freshmen in wide receiver Kevin Austin (Fort Lauderdale), offensive lineman Cody Benjamin (Tampa), tight end George Takacs (Naples) and wide receiver Joe Wilkins (North Fort Meyers). 964 Victories recorded by Notre Dame women's basketball since its inception as a varsity sport in 1977-78 — with 800 of them by current head coach Muffet McGraw. The reigning national champs and unanimous preseason Associated Press No. 1 team needs 36 more this year to reach 1,000. The 30-game regular season, not including the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament, begins Nov. 9 at home versus Harvard. 1,508-1,043 Points and rebounds, respectively, accumulated during his Notre Dame varsity basketball career by Bob Whitmore from 1966-69. The point total still ranks 15th on the all-time Fighting Irish chart, while the rebounds are fifth. Fifty years after his gradua- tion, Whitmore will be honored in Notre Dame's basketball Ring of Honor on Jan. 12, 2019. Whitmore also is famed for helping begin the Washington, D.C., pipeline from 1965-89 that brought basketball royalty such as Austin Carr and Adrian Dantley to Notre Dame, in addition to other luminaries or starters such as Collis Jones, Sid Catlett, Don "Duck" Williams, Tracy Jackson, Tom Sluby, Cecil Rucker and Monty Williams. Recent stand- outs from D.C. also include Eric Atkins (2010-14), Jerian Grant (2011-15) and current sophomore D.J. Harvey, plus starting freshman point guard Prentiss Hubb. ✦ BY THE NUMBERS PHOTO BY BILL PANZICA
